Baby Cries When Breastfeeding

baby cries when breastfeeding

  • (of a baby) Feed from the breast

  • Breastfeeding is the feeding of an infant or young child with breast milk directly from female human breasts (i.e., via lactation) rather than from a baby bottle or other container. Babies have a sucking reflex that enables them to suck and swallow milk.

  • (cry) shout: utter a sudden loud cry; "she cried with pain when the doctor inserted the needle"; "I yelled to her from the window but she couldn't hear me"

Lani's 6 Months Today!

Lani's 6 Months Today!

My how the time has passed by! Our little girl is growing up so fast! It seems just like yesterday when we brought her home from the hospital. Look at that hair! That's her signature look...it's like a curly mohawk.

She has definitely changed so much within the last couple of weeks. Her voice has gotten raspy and she whimpers now. She's teething even more now so she'll gum everything and anything she gets her hands on. She doesn't drool as much as before which is a good thing. She started to refuse her bottle whether it's breastmilk or formula, but luckily she's eating tons of rice cereal and still breastfeeding. We introduced Barley rice cereal and she didn't like that, but sure does like the Rice cereal with Banana. She likes drinking water whether it's from a cup or a spoon.

She's definitely thinned out a lot even within the last couple of weeks. She's no longer as "sausagey" tight skinned as before.

She's such a happy baby and we are so lucky for that. She's got our disposition and is so laid back, but she knows what she wants like her mommy! She'll pout her lips when she's had enough to eat and will turn her head when she's done with whatever activity.

She's been rolling for a couple of months now and is starting to crawl. Daddy teaches her so she has been doing awesome! I have a feeling she won't be crawling for long because she always wants to stand.

She will crack up at most things and loves to play Peek-a-boo. She'll laugh up a storm when we make the monkey calls.

This girl sweats so easily that beads even form on her nose... just like daddy. It's hilarious how when she wakes up sometimes, there's a sweat spot where her head is... as if she had jeri juice in her hair. LOL.

She's in her phase where she prefers only mommy. She will cry up a storm when daddy holds her, but will quiet down quickly when I hold her. She puts her head in the crook of my neck and looks over my shoulder.

Dr. Seuss for Breastfeeding Mums

Would you breastfeed in the park?
Would you breastfeed in the dark?
Would you breastfeed with a Boppy?
And when your boobs are feeling floppy?

I would breastfeed in the park,
I would breastfeed in the dark.
I’d feed with or without a Boppy.
Floppy boobs will never stop me.

Can you feed with your seat belt on?
Can you feed from dusk till dawn?
Though she may pinch me, bite me, pull,
I will breastfeed `till she’s full!

Can you breastfeed and make some soup?
Can you breastfeed and feed the group?
It makes her healthy strong and smart,
Mummy’s milk is the perfect start!

Would you breastfeed at the game?
Would you breastfeed in the rain?
In front of those who dare complain?
I would breastfeed at the game.
I would breastfeed in the rain.

As for those who protest lactation,
I have the perfect explanation.
Mummy’s milk is tailor made
It’s the perfect food, you need no aid.

Some may scoff and some may wriggle,
Avert their eyes or even giggle.
To those who can be cruel and rude,
Remind them breast’s the perfect food!

I would never scoff or giggle,
Roll my eyes or even wiggle!
I would not be so crass or crude,
I KNOW that this milk’s the perfect food!

We make the amount we need
The perfect temp for every feed.
There’s no compare to milk from breast-
The perfect food, above the rest.

Those breastfeeding smiles are oh so sweet,
Mummy’s milk is such a treat.
Human milk just can’t be beat.

I will breastfeed, in any case,
On the street or in your face.
I will not let my baby cry,
I’ll meet her needs, I’ll always try.
It’s not about what’s good for you,
It’s best for babies, through and through.

I will breastfeed in my home,
I will breastfeed when I roam.
Leave me be lads, leave me be ma’am.
I will breastfeed, Mum I am.
